El Tratado de Libre Comercio de America del Norte (NAFTA, segun sus siglas en ingles, o TLCAN), que entro en vigor hace diecisiete anos, ha tenido efectos devastadores sobre la agricultura de Mexico. Los productos agriolas estadounidenses (subvencionados) han inundado este pais y arruinaron a millones de pequenos campesinos. Pero la situacion se agravara todavia mas, porque desde el 1 de enero de 2008 la liberalizacion de los intercambios agricolas entre Canada, Estados Unidos y Mexico, que ya es muy importante, sera total.
