Abstract

Four ceramic rimsherds from site DlLg 33, a prehistoric riverine trade loci, located in downtown Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada, were submitted for ceramic and organic residue analysis. In addition, a single biface was examined for protein residue. Ceramics were tested for organic residues using Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR). Ceramic and organic residue analyses on the ceramics will be used to provide information regarding the foods processed in the vessels and their origins, and perhaps, shed light on decorative influences, beyond style types.
