Abstract
Simone « jouait gaiement sur les mots, disant tantôt casser un oeil, tantôt crever un oeuf », nous informe le narrateur du roman de Georges Bataille, Histoire de l’oeil. C’est précisément sur ce jeu d’associations et sur l’insolite paire de l’oeil et de l’oeuf que va porter la lecture de deux oeuvres en langue occitane, Jonàs de Joan-Ives Casanova (1987) et « Lo fiu de l’uòu »1 de Robert Lafont (2001).2 Malgré les nombreuses dissemblances qui les distinguent, une réflexion complexe sur la nature et l’enjeu du témoignage, avec sa part de mémoire, de fabrication, d’histoire et de réel médiatisés caractérise les deux ouvrages. En outre, tous les deux partagent des éléments fréquemment rencontrés dans les récits de science-fiction, par exemple la mise en scène d’impossibles événements, la vision apocalyptique et, conjointement, le rêve d’utopiques réalisations. Plus encore, l’oeil et l’oeuf y sont des symboles de première importance, les deux oeuvres se lisant, bien sûr, à un niveau figuré.
