Abstract
El contraste entre padres y Estado en la educacion de los menores. la Sentencia S.L. V. commission scolaire des chenes de la Corte Suprema de Canada Se trata de analizar el recurso de unos padres contra el directorio de la escuela de sus hijos. El recurso se basaba en que el nuevo programa de etica y cultura religiosa, que habia remplazado el curso de religion catolica, resultaba contrario a su propria libertad de conciencia y la de sus hijos porque adotrinaba los menores y loa alejaba de la verdadera creencia. En concreto solicitaban la posibilidad de esonero para el curso; sin embargo el tribunal supremo declaro que el estado moderno se plantea en manera multicultural y por lo tanto las escuelas no pueden mas proporcionar cursos de la religion mayoritaria sino tienen la obligacion a proponer cursos generales sobre la relevancia de todas las religiones y las multiples opciones etica. Esto no vulnera la libertad de religion sino representa una medida al fin de educar a los menores al pluralismo y a la tolerancia por fortalecer la democracia.
