Abstract
In the past 30 years, the number of female veterinarians has increased substantially, and now most of the new graduates from veterinary colleges in Canada and the United States are women (1). By exploring memoir and film representations, we can gain a better understanding of the experiences of women as they entered a predominantly male profession, how female veterinarians have been viewed in our society, and how attitudes toward female veterinarians may be changing.
