Abstract

develop a more comprehensive theory of ACC function to explain the various patterns of symptoms, cognitive and emotional deficits, as well as neuroimaging findings, across a number of psychiatric disorders. We also make suggestions for the design and interpretation of future studies concerning the ACC in psychiatric disorders that may provide important new insights into the neurobiological basis of these disorders.
