Abstract
Depuis la fin du XIX e s., poque des premires relations publies sur le sujet, quelque 300 tumulus du premier ge du Fer ont t explors ou fouills dans les garrigues du Languedoc oriental (dpartement du Gard et moiti orientale de celui de l'Hrault), ainsi qu'une vingtaine de dolmens rutiliss alors et une dizaine de tombes ovales , dont on trouve trace dans la littrature archologique (Dedet, Bernard. 1992.). Ils sont implants en milieu rocheux, collines et plateaux calcaires des Garrigues, ou encore serres micaschisteux cvenols -les tombes amnages en milieu alluvial nous chappent encore presque compltement pour le moment, mais la dcouverte et la fouille rcentes du complexe cultuel et funraire de Vestric, dans la plaine du Vistre (Dedet, Bernard ; Mahieu, ric ; Sauvage, Laurent. 1997.) montre que cette situation rsulte du manque de recherche dans les zones basses.
