Abstract
Le statut juridique de toute faculte catholique de theologie est conditionne par divers facteurs incluant le droit civil, le droit universel de l'Eglise, les decrets de la conference des eveques et de l'eveque du diocese, les statuts de la faculte et les coutumes du lieu. Cette etude est limitee a une de ces sources-la loi universelle de l'Eglise. L'objet de l'article est d'offrir une introduction ou une orientation sur le sujet, non pas une etude detaillee de lois individuelles ou de documents. La premiere partie decrit brievement l'organisation et le mode d'action de deux dicasteres romains qui sont d'une importance particuliere pour les facultes de theologie: la Congregation pour l'education catholique et la Congregation pour la doctrine de la foi. La seconde partie examine les lois universelles touchant de pres a la question du statut juridique des facultes de theologie. La troisieme partie considere les normes se rapportant directement aux professeurs de disciplines theologiques.
