Abstract
The Drum Tower Hospital in Nanjing of Jiangsu Province is an ancient comprehensive hospital with a history of 112 years. It was founded in 1892 by the American-Canadian missionary W.E Macline. By the end of 1949, the hospital had owned 160 beds and had a staff of 242. It received 3667 inpatients and 78?@905 outpatients annually.
