Abstract
Nombre de commentateurs ont décelé des inflexions, des discontinuités voire une véritable "coupure" dans l'itinéraire intellectuel de Durkheim. En s'appuyant sur l'état actuel de nos connaissances sur sa biographie tant intellectuelle que personnelle, il est possible de caractériser et dater assez précisément cette rupture contemporaine de Suicide. Même si plusieurs interprétations de Durkheim le présentent comme la sociologie de l'anomie, le concept d'anomie est loin d'être central dans l'ensemble de son œuvre : la production de ce concept coïncide avec une phase critique - anomique - de la biographie intellectuelle du père fondateur de la sociologie française.
