Abstract
Este trabajo analiza -desde una perspectiva interpretativa que intenta identificar y evaluar el repertorio de las formas de resistencia de los grupos subalternos rurales, inscribiendo esas formas de acción en las condiciones de existencia de los paisanos y en las experiencias históricas vividas que contribuyeron a orientar sus intervenciones- el asalto del pueblo de Navarro y la Villa de Luján que en diciembre de 1826 llevó adelante una montonera de varias decenas de hombres conducidos por un labrador de la frontera oeste. Los hechos de Navarro y Luján son menos excepcionales de lo que pueden parecer y marcan el punto máximo de expresión de un fenómeno social mucho más amplio entrelazado con la conflictividad política y que habrá de adquirir mayores y nuevas dimensiones en los años siguientes.
