Torsion subgroups of elliptic curves in short Weierstrass form

Résumé
In a recent paper by M. Wieczorek, a claim is made regarding the possible rational torsion subgroups of elliptic curves <inline-formula content-type="math/mathml"> <mml:math xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" alttext="upper E slash double-struck upper Q"> <mml:semantics> <mml:mrow> <mml:mi>E</mml:mi> <mml:mrow class="MJX-TeXAtom-ORD"> <mml:mo>/</mml:mo> </mml:mrow> <mml:mrow class="MJX-TeXAtom-ORD"> <mml:mi mathvariant="double-struck">Q</mml:mi> </mml:mrow> </mml:mrow> <mml:annotation encoding="application/x-tex">E/\mathbb {Q}</mml:annotation> </mml:semantics> </mml:math> </inline-formula> in short Weierstrass form, subject to certain inequalities for their coefficients. We provide a series of counterexamples to this claim and explore a number of related results. In particular, we show that, for any <inline-formula content-type="math/mathml"> <mml:math xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" alttext="epsilon greater-than 0"> <mml:semantics> <mml:mrow> <mml:mi> ε </mml:mi> <mml:mo>></mml:mo> <mml:mn>0</mml:mn> </mml:mrow> <mml:annotation encoding="application/x-tex">\varepsilon >0</mml:annotation> </mml:semantics> </mml:math> </inline-formula> , all but finitely many curves <disp-formula content-type="math/mathml"> \[ <mml:math xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" alttext="upper E Subscript upper A comma upper B Baseline colon y squared equals x cubed plus upper A x plus upper B comma"> <mml:semantics> <mml:mrow> <mml:msub> <mml:mi>E</mml:mi> <mml:mrow class="MJX-TeXAtom-ORD"> <mml:mi>A</mml:mi> <mml:mo>,</mml:mo> <mml:mi>B</mml:mi> </mml:mrow> </mml:msub> <mml:mspace width="thickmathspace"/> <mml:mo>:</mml:mo> <mml:mspace width="thickmathspace"/> <mml:msup> <mml:mi>y</mml:mi> <mml:mn>2</mml:mn> </mml:msup> <mml:mo>=</mml:mo> <mml:msup> <mml:mi>x</mml:mi> <mml:mn>3</mml:mn> </mml:msup> <mml:mo>+</mml:mo> <mml:mi>A</mml:mi> <mml:mi>x</mml:mi> <mml:mo>+</mml:mo> <mml:mi>B</mml:mi> <mml:mo>,</mml:mo> </mml:mrow> <mml:annotation encoding="application/x-tex">E_{A,B} \; : \; y^2 = x^3 + A x + B,</mml:annotation> </mml:semantics> </mml:math> \] </disp-formula> where <inline-formula content-type="math/mathml"> <mml:math xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" alttext="upper A"> <mml:semantics> <mml:mi>A</mml:mi> <mml:annotation encoding="application/x-tex">A</mml:annotation> </mml:semantics> </mml:math> </inline-formula> and <inline-formula content-type="math/mathml"> <mml:math xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" alttext="upper B"> <mml:semantics> <mml:mi>B</mml:mi> <mml:annotation encoding="application/x-tex">B</mml:annotation> </mml:semantics> </mml:math> </inline-formula> are integers satisfying <inline-formula content-type="math/mathml"> <mml:math xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" alttext="upper A greater-than StartAbsoluteValue upper B EndAbsoluteValue Superscript 1 plus epsilon Baseline greater-than 0"> <mml:semantics> <mml:mrow> <mml:mi>A</mml:mi> <mml:mo>></mml:mo> <mml:mrow class="MJX-TeXAtom-ORD"> <mml:mo stretchy="false">|</mml:mo> </mml:mrow> <mml:mi>B</mml:mi> <mml:msup> <mml:mrow class="MJX-TeXAtom-ORD"> <mml:mo stretchy="false">|</mml:mo> </mml:mrow> <mml:mrow class="MJX-TeXAtom-ORD"> <mml:mn>1</mml:mn> <mml:mo>+</mml:mo> <mml:mi> ε </mml:mi> </mml:mrow> </mml:msup> <mml:mo>></mml:mo> <mml:mn>0</mml:mn> </mml:mrow> <mml:annotation encoding="application/x-tex">A>|B|^{1+\varepsilon }>0</mml:annotation> </mml:semantics> </mml:math> </inline-formula> , have rational torsion subgroups of order either one or three. Imitation des enseignantsNi prévalence calibrée, ni vérité terrain. Validation humaine à venir. Apprise à partir de 10 348 étiquettes directes de Codex et de 10 348 étiquettes directes de Gemma. Le mode candidate est l'union des têtes enseignantes seuillées; le consensus est leur intersection. Ces sorties portent le statut machine_predicted_unvalidated et ne sont ni des étiquettes humaines ni des étiquettes directes de modèles de pointe.

Scores machine (provisoires)
Les deux têtes enseignantes du modèle étudiant, lues sur ce travail. Un score ordonne la base pour la relecture; il n'affirme jamais une catégorie, et le statut de validation accompagne chaque rangée tel quel.
Scores de référence d'un modèle non mature (critères de maturité non atteints, 7 itérations). Un score ordonne; il n'affirme jamais une catégorie.
score_only:v0-immature-baseline · tel quel depuis la passe de notation : score_only signifie que le nombre peut ordonner les travaux, et qu'aucune étiquette de catégorie n'en découleClassification
machine, non validéePrédiction automatique; un appel candidat d’une seule tête enseignante, pas un consensus.
