Rola impulsywności, lęku oraz poczucia własnej skuteczności u osób uprawiających hazard problemowo
Notice bibliographique
Résumé
The aim of the study was to assess the role of impulsivity, anxiety and self-efficacy as predictors of problem gambling. In the study the following methods were used: Polish adaptation of Impulsive Behaviour Scale (UPPS) by Whiteside & Lynam State-Trait Anxiety Inventory by Spielberger Generalised Self-Efficacy Scale (GSES) by Schwarzer, Jerusalem and Juczyński Canadian Problem Gambling Index (CPGI) One hundred fifty seven men were evaluated. There were four groups of subjects: 1) patients with problem gambling, 2) patients with problem gambling and alcohol dependence (dual diagnosis), 3) patients with alcohol dependence and 4) non-dependent persons. Patients with problem gambling and alcohol dependence have a similar level of urgency to patients with problem gambling and significantly higher than patients with alcohol dependence and the non-dependent persons. Higher urgency as well as lack of premeditation confirms the higher level of impulsivity among persons with problem gambling and those with dual diagnosis. The level of anxiety is similar in the group of persons with problem gambling and alcohol dependence and significantly higher in comparison with the non-dependent group. The level of self-efficacy is significantly lower among patients with problem gambling or alcohol dependence. Anxiety as a trait is the predictor of problem gambling. The role of impulsivity as the predictor has not been directly confirmed but urgency is the predictor of anxiety. The observed relationship indicates the usefulness of therapy and prevention focused on helping patients with problem gambling or alcohol dependence to cope with anxiety and the need to individualise the treatment process due to the pathogenesis of problem gambling. W badaniu zastosowano: Polską adaptację skali UPPS (Urgency, Premeditation Perseverance, Sensation seeking) Whiteside’a i Lynama do pomiaru impulsywności Inwentarz Stanu i Cechy Lęku (STAI) Spielbergera Skalę Uogólnionego Poczucia Własnej Skuteczności (GSES) według Schwarzera, Jerusalem i Juczyńskiego Kanadyjski Indeks Problemowego Hazardu (CPGI).
