Résumé
The article analyzes the importance of club organizations in the design of the urban environment, and also studies their influence on the process of human socialization. Attention is drawn to the fact that the transition of urban planning from the quarter to the microdistrict principle in the late 1950s significantly increased the role of houses and palaces of culture in urban planning, giving them the status of city-forming elements around which the architectural and planning composition of a microdistrict or district was built. The transition to the microdistrict principle and the changes that took place in the Soviet society in the second half of the 1950s - 1960s also influenced the potential of club institutions in incorporating a person into the Soviet society, which, of course, led to both an increase in the importance of club organizations in the life of a person and set new tasks for such organizations, such as finding the optimal mechanism for incorporating the constantly changing Soviet person into the public space. The aim of the article is to demonstrate how the importance of cultural institutions in the urban environment has changed over time. To achieve it, the following objectives have been solved: it is demonstrated how the role of houses and palaces of culture was influenced by the transition to the microdistrict principle of urban planning; when analyzing the role of clubs in the process of socialization, attention is drawn to the various tools that were at their disposal. To achieve this goal and objectives, problem-chronological, historical-comparative, historical-genetic methods are used. The novelty of this article is in the fact that the research is based on the materials of Leningrad clubs operating in the 1950s - 1960s. It is proposed to study the role of club organizations within the city in terms of their influence on architectural and planning decisions and participation in the process of incorporating a person into the urban society. To solve these problems, archival materials that have not been previously published are introduced into scientific circulation, so they may be of interest to a large number of readers, as they will expand its understanding of Soviet everyday life in the 1950s and 1960s.
