It is known that the <s:math xmlns:s="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"> <s:msub> <s:mi>R</s:mi> <s:msup> <s:mi>D</s:mi> <s:mrow> <s:mo stretchy="false">(</s:mo> <s:mo>*</s:mo> <s:mo stretchy="false">)</s:mo> </s:mrow> </s:msup> </s:msub> </s:math> anomaly can be easily accommodated by an <w:math xmlns:w="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"> <w:mi>S</w:mi> <w:mi>U</w:mi> <w:mo stretchy="false">(</w:mo> <w:mn>2</w:mn> <w:msub> <w:mo stretchy="false">)</w:mo> <w:mi>L</w:mi> </w:msub> </w:math> -singlet vector leptoquark (LQ) coupled primarily to third-generation fermions, whose existence is further motivated by a partial gauge unification. In general, such a LQ naturally leads to additional <ab:math xmlns:ab="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"> <ab:mi>C</ab:mi> <ab:mi>P</ab:mi> </ab:math> -violating phases in the LQ interactions. In this paper, we point out that the current <cb:math xmlns:cb="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"> <cb:msub> <cb:mi>R</cb:mi> <cb:msup> <cb:mi>D</cb:mi> <cb:mrow> <cb:mo stretchy="false">(</cb:mo> <cb:mo>*</cb:mo> <cb:mo stretchy="false">)</cb:mo> </cb:mrow> </cb:msup> </cb:msub> </cb:math> anomaly prefers the <gb:math xmlns:gb="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"> <gb:mi>C</gb:mi> <gb:mi>P</gb:mi> </gb:math> -violating interaction although <ib:math xmlns:ib="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"> <ib:mrow> <ib:mi mathvariant="script">B</ib:mi> <ib:mo stretchy="false">(</ib:mo> <ib:mrow> <ib:mover accent="true"> <ib:mrow> <ib:mi>B</ib:mi> </ib:mrow> <ib:mrow> <ib:mo stretchy="false">¯</ib:mo> </ib:mrow> </ib:mover> </ib:mrow> <ib:mo stretchy="false">→</ib:mo> <ib:msup> <ib:mrow> <ib:mi>D</ib:mi> </ib:mrow> <ib:mrow> <ib:mo stretchy="false">(</ib:mo> <ib:mo>*</ib:mo> <ib:mo stretchy="false">)</ib:mo> </ib:mrow> </ib:msup> <ib:mi>l</ib:mi> <ib:mover accent="true"> <ib:mrow> <ib:mi>ν</ib:mi> </ib:mrow> <ib:mrow> <ib:mo stretchy="false">¯</ib:mo> </ib:mrow> </ib:mover> <ib:mo stretchy="false">)</ib:mo> </ib:mrow> </ib:math> are <ub:math xmlns:ub="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"> <ub:mi>C</ub:mi> <ub:mi>P</ub:mi> </ub:math> -conserving observables. The <wb:math xmlns:wb="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"> <wb:mi>C</wb:mi> <wb:mi>P</wb:mi> </wb:math> -violating LQ predicts a substantial size of the bottom-quark electric dipole moment (EDM), the chromo-EDM, and also the tau-lepton EDM. Eventually at low energy, the nucleon and electron EDMs are radiatively induced. Therefore, we conclude that the <yb:math xmlns:yb="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"> <yb:msub> <yb:mi>R</yb:mi> <yb:msup> <yb:mi>D</yb:mi> <yb:mrow> <yb:mo stretchy="false">(</yb:mo> <yb:mo>*</yb:mo> <yb:mo stretchy="false">)</yb:mo> </yb:mrow> </yb:msup> </yb:msub> </yb:math> anomaly with the <cc:math xmlns:cc="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"> <cc:mi>S</cc:mi> <cc:mi>U</cc:mi> <cc:mo stretchy="false">(</cc:mo> <cc:mn>2</cc:mn> <cc:msub> <cc:mo stretchy="false">)</cc:mo> <cc:mi>L</cc:mi> </cc:msub> </cc:math> -singlet vector LQ provides unique predictions: neutron and proton EDMs with opposite signs and a magnitude of <gc:math xmlns:gc="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"> <gc:mrow> <gc:mi mathvariant="script">O</gc:mi> <gc:mo stretchy="false">(</gc:mo> <gc:msup> <gc:mrow> <gc:mn>10</gc:mn> </gc:mrow> <gc:mrow> <gc:mo>−</gc:mo> <gc:mn>27</gc:mn> </gc:mrow> </gc:msup> <gc:mo stretchy="false">)</gc:mo> <gc:mtext> </gc:mtext> <gc:mtext> </gc:mtext> <gc:mi>e</gc:mi> <gc:mtext> </gc:mtext> <gc:mi>cm</gc:mi> </gc:mrow> </gc:math> , and suppressed electron EDM.
