Resilience and Reclamation: A Comparative Study of Female Identity in Lauren Groff’s The Vaster Wilds and Margaret Atwood’s Surfacing

This research study is on female resilience and reclaiming by doing a comparative literary study of Lauren Groff's The Vaster Wilds and Margaret Atwood's Surfacing. By means of Eco-feminism, feminist literary critique, and psychoanalysis, women in hostile environments, psychological alienation, and societal restrictions, in particular, will be depicted. In Eco-feminism, there is eco-feminism engagement with nature-feminism narrative, eco-feminism historical and eco-feminism religious. In both stories, there is physical survival in nature in The Vaster Wilds, along with personal development. As a heroine in Surfacing, she is on a psychological, emotional journey in light of a feminist awakening. In this study, there is resilience in a dynamic process of self-discovery and self-empowerment.
