Martial law presents significant challenges for nurses working with children. Children's hospitals are becoming institutions that provide not only medical care but also comprehensive medical and social support for both children and their families. Aim. To analyse the provision of psychological support in the professional activities of nurses in the paediatric unit. Materials and Methods. A survey on the psychological aspects of nurses’ work was conducted in April 2024 among the parents of 20 children from the Orthopedics and Traumatology Department of the Municipal Non-Profit Enterprise "Chernihiv Regional Children's Hospital" of Chernihiv Regional Council. An anonymous questionnaire of our own design was used to evaluate the work of a nurse. Respondents signed an informed consent to participate in the study. Results. Positive communication was noted by 90% of respondents, indicating the nurses’ professionalism, empathy, and willingness to create favorable conditions for children's treatment. In addition, the respondents reported a high level of nurses’ adaptation to the extreme conditions of martial law, as well as their ability to ensure effective interaction with patients and their families. Data analysis regarding nurses’ ability to create a friendly atmosphere for children during hospital interactions showed consistently positive feedback from parents. The individual needs of children were rated positively in 85% of responses. However, 5% of respondents answered negatively, indicating that some parents believed their child's needs and interests were not adequately considered by the nurses. Conclusions. The need to work under crisis conditions may affect the effectiveness of nurses' performance. The development of specialized psychological support programs can assist nurses in adapting to the changing realities of wartime, foster their emotional resilience, contribute to the creation of an emotionally safe environment for patients, and support parents during the challenging period of their children’s treatment. Дитячі лікарні стають місцем надання не лише медичної допомоги, а й комплексної медико-соціальної підтримки дітей та їхніх родин. Мета. Провести аналіз надання психологічної підтримки в професійній діяльності медичних сестер дитячого відділення. Матеріали і методи. Проведено опитування щодо психологічних аспектів в роботі медичних сестер у батьків 20-х дітей ортопедо-травматологічного відділення КНП «Чернігівська обласна дитяча лікарня» Чернігівської обласної ради у квітні 2024 року за допомогою анонімної анкети власної розробки щодо оцінки роботи медсестри. Опитані підписали інформовану згоду на участь у науковому дослідженні. Результати. Позитивну комунікацію відзначили 90 % респондентів, що свідчить про професіоналізм медичних сестер, їхню емпатію та готовність створювати сприятливі умови для лікування дітей. Крім того, респонденти відзначили високий рівень медичних сестер в адаптації до екстремальних умов воєнного стану та вмінню забезпечувати якісну взаємодію з пацієнтами та їхніми родинами. Аналіз даних щодо здатності медичних сестер створювати дружню атмосферу для дітей під час їх взаємодії в лікарні продемонстрував абсолютний позитивний відгук від батьків. Індивідуальні потреби дітей на 85 % відповідей респондентів відзначено позитивно. Проте 5 % опитаних відповіли негативно на це питання, тобто батьки не вважали, що потреби та інтереси їх дитини були належним чином враховані медсестрами. Висновки. Необхідність працювати в кризових умовах, можуть впливати на ефективність роботи медичних сестер. Розробка спеціалізованих програм психологічної підтримки, допоможуть адаптуватися до змінюваних умов воєнного періоду, будуть сприяти емоційній стійкості медичних сестер, створенню емоційно безпечного середовища для пацієнтів, а також допоможуть батькам у складний період лікування їхніх дітей.
