In the conditions of full-scale aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine, an important component of the state’s defense remains its defense at sea. Today, the Naval Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine continue to participate in repelling the armed aggression of the Russian Federation, interacting with other types of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, therefore the study of issues of training and use of naval forces in inter-species operations (actions) in the maritime direction are relevant today. Such operations (actions) include the evacuation of troops (forces) by sea. In this context, the accumulated experience of evacuating troops (forces) by sea in military conflicts of the 20th – the first quarter of the 21st century, in particular, the preparation and use of troops (forces) in such operations (actions), is of great importance. Having analyzed the works of domestic and foreign researchers on the history of naval art in the military conflicts of the 20th – the first quarter of the 21st century, the author established that the study of this issue was not the subject of a comprehensive, thorough and objective military-historical study. Thus, the mentioned issue has both practical and military-scientific interest. The article provides a comparative analysis of the preparation and use of troops (forces) during sea evacuation of opposing parties in military conflicts of the 20th – the first quarter of the 21st century. The characteristic features and peculiarities of the preparation and use of the troops (forces) of the opposing sides in evacuation measures by sea during the First World War, the Civil War in Russia and the Second World War have been determined. The evacuation of troops (forces) by sea in the inter-war and post-war periods is considered and analyzed fragmentarily. As directions for further research, it is advisable to consider the peculiarities of management, interaction and support in operations (actions) for the evacuation of troops (forces) by sea of opposing parties in military conflicts of the 20th – the first quarter of the 21st century.
