Leading UK Economist to Deliver Davies Lecture\nTORONTO, March 19, 2013 – John Kay, one of Britain’s leading economists, will deliver the fifth Davies Lecture on Friday, March 22 at a breakfast meeting at the Toronto Board of Trade. The event is co-sponsored by York University’s Jay and Barbara Hennick Centre for Business and Law and Davies Ward Phillips & Vineberg LLP.\nKay, currently a Visiting Professor at the London School of Economics, will discuss the findings of his recently issued report to the UK government, “The Kay Report - Review of UK Equity Markets and Long Term Decision Making.” He will also comment on the UK government’s commitment to act on his findings, as detailed in the government’s response, “Ensuring Equity Markets Support Long-Term Growth.”\nHis talk is the fifth in a series of business law lectures made possible by the generous support of Davies Ward Phillips & Vineberg LLP, one of Canada’s leading commercial law firms, practising nationally and internationally from offices in Toronto, Montreal and New York.\nThe Jay and Barbara Hennick Centre for Business and Law at York University is the first Canadian centre to promote and develop joint business and law scholarship and education.
