Abstract
Le dcs de Jean-Pierre Barthlemy, survenu le 21 juin 2010, a suscit une vive motion auprs de ses proches, ses amis, ses collgues. De nombreux messages, venant de diffrents pays (tats-Unis, Canada, Brsil, Russie, etc., sans oublier bien sr la France et d'autres pays europens), vinrent tmoigner de la place qu'occupait Jean-Pierre dans la communaut mathmatique. Tous tenaient saluer son esprit fcond et sa personnalit originale et attachante. Jean-Pierre tait bien sr un homme de sciences. Mais, comme le souligne Bruno Leclerc [2010], Jean-Pierre ajoutait d'autres passions ses talents scientifiques. En particulier, on ne saurait passer sous silence celle de la peinture, ses toiles ayant fait l'objet d'une dizaine d'expositions.
