Abstract
In the article the types of the foreign economic agrarian policy are considered, their orientation and economic essence are studied. The system of the applied protection measures and consequences for national economy at realization of the policy combining free trade and new protectionism is shown. The positive and negative features of introduction a ban on import to Russia some agricultural production, raw materials and food from the European Union, the United States, Canada, Australia and some other countries are revealed and analysed. The directions of modernization the agrarian policy of Russia in the conditions of food embargo are proposed.
