L'objectif de cette tude est d'analyser les caractristiques de la participation sur le march de travail et de l'offre de travail des femmes maries immigrantes et non immigrantes au Canada.L'tude s'appuie sur les hypothses du modle statique standard d'offre de travail qui dcoule de la thorie noclassique de choix du consommateur. l'aide des donnes du Recensement 2001, nous estimons les quations de participation, de salaire et d'offre de travail.Nous suivons la procdure de Heckman d'estimation par tapes dans le but de corriger la prsence potentielle de biais de slection.En accord avec des tudes antrieures, nous trouvons quelques diffrences substantielles entre les natives et les immigrantes par rapport leur insertion dans le march du travail.En outre, le groupe des immigrantes renferme des caractristiques culturelles htrognes qui semblent avoir une influence sur le rle de la femme dans le mnage et, par consquent, sur son assignation du temps entre activits de march et activits domestiques.Ces rsultats relvent l'importance d'une analyse approfondie de groupes cibls au moment de la mise en place de politiques russies d 'immigration, dmographiques et d'emploi.
