Abstract
En l’actualitat existeix una gran quantitat de discursos teòrics que declaren que la natura s’està construint socialment i fins i tot abolint. Uns autors ho celebren, d’altres ho lamenten i uns altres fins i tot aparten totalment les dinàmiques naturals de les seves anàlisis. En aquest article, s’avaluen, en primer lloc i de forma crítica, aquestes diferents teories i metodologies pel que fa a les relacions entre les pràctiques socials i els processos naturals, i a continuació es desenvolupa un argument alternatiu. L’expansió de la societat cap a àrees verges ha ocasionat l’aparició de nous trastorns de la natura a la societat. La natura prístina ha estat substituïda per una natura primària modificada socialment, que conserva la capacitat d’afectar les construccions socials amb dinàmiques independents. Malgrat això, la natura segueix encaixada dins la tecnologia, així com també el seu potencial per escapar al control. Aquests híbrids construïts per humans i no humans es recombinen amb processos i materials de la natura. Ara que aquesta natura recombinant s’ha integrat en la societat i que noves dinàmiques de la natura primària s’han internalitzat, hi ha un motiu més gran per incorporar les forces de la natura en les anàlisis sociològiques.
