Le projet ARUC Histoire du travail au Nouveau-Brunswick (LHTNB) vise à démontrer que l’expérience ouvrière est une composante importante et essentielle de notre patrimoine provincial. Grâce à des partenariats avec divers organismes communautaires, notre équipe de recherche a organisé des activités publiques et participé à des projets de collaboration dans plusieurs régions de la province. Cet article vise deux objectifs. Dans un premier temps, nous évaluons la nature et l’efficacité des partenariats développés dans une région acadienne du Nouveau-Brunswick, le Madawaska. Plusieurs questions sont soulevées. Ainsi, a-t-on réussi à développer de véritables partenariats au Madawaska? Peut-on réellement parler d’un « partage de l’autorité » entre notre équipe de recherche et nos partenaires communautaires dans cette région? Quel rôle réserve-t-on au public depuis les débuts du projet? Dans un deuxième temps, nous analysons l’impact des activités publiques et des projets de collaboration sur la communauté madawaskayenne et nous tentons de dégager des leçons que notre équipe de recherche peut tirer de ces expériences.
