Este volumen recoge los trabajos presentados en el Simposium, celebrado en Orlando (Florida, USA) durante los dias 11-15 de Marzo del 2012, en honor del prof. T.T.Chen jubilado del CANMET (Canada) en marzo del 2011, despues de mas de 35 anos de practica profesional en distintas areas de la Metalurgia Extractiva y Procesado de Metales. El Simposium fue organizado por el Comite de Hidrometalurgia y Electrometalurgia y el Comite de Caracterizacion de Materiales de la Division de Extraccion y Procesado de la TMS (The Minerals, Metals & Materials Society, USA). El libro, a lo largo de sus 800 paginas, recoge 70 contribuciones al simposium y cuatro lecturas plenarias, presentadas por autores de mas de 15 paises y distribuidas de acuerdo con las tematicas generales del mismo: electrorrefino del cobre, procesado de metales base, procesado de metales de transicion, metales preciosos, reciclado y medio ambiente, etc. Sin lugar a dudas, este libro es un compendio de los ultimos avances en los distintos campos que se han mencionado, por lo que su consulta es obligada para todos los profesionales con algun interes en estos sectores.
