Abstract
IntroduçãoO livro As centralidades e as fronteiras das empresas do século 21 (DONADONE; CHAVES, 2011) é uma obra que contribui para a discussão sobre as novas concepções de empresa e o predomínio das finanças, suas crenças e atores, através de instrumentos como a governança corporativa, responsabilidade social, sustentabilidade socioambiental, os fundos de pensão, privaty equities e através também de instituições como órgãos públicos, associações privadas e seus atores.O livro, organizado por Júlio César Donadone e Maria A Chaves Jardim, destaca-se pela preocupação dos autores quanto às questões culturais de modo que as formações cognitivas dos indivíduos são consideradas atreladas a socialização (DOUGLAS, 1998).Além disso, os artigos fogem do caminho proposto pela economia ortodoxa da "mão invisível", pois a proposta do livro é analisar as "mãos visíveis" (HIRSH, 2003), seguindo as propostas da sociologia econômica e das finanças.A obra é estruturada por uma coletânea de artigos com uma visão multifacetada e complementar da relação "empresa-produção".Dessa maneira, os trabalhos possuem recortes metodológicos oriundos de pesquisas de campo realizadas no Brasil, China, Estados Unidos, Canadá, França e Reino Unido.A contribuição do livro está em discutir a concepção tradicional de organização e de empresa, considerando o cenário de predomínio das finanças.Assim as centralidades e as
