Após definir a sociedade do saber em suas dimensões filosóficas, sociológicas, econômicas e “proselitistas”, sem esquecer o que o contexto tecnológico em que ela se encontra faz esquecer na definição contemporânea do saber, considerar-se-á a sociedade do saber em relação ao reconhecimento do outro e a um multiculturalismo ligado ao mesmo tempo ao liberalismo econômico e às proteções sociais. Esta sociedade do saber transforma o Canadá e as Américas, pois ela desloca os limites teoria/prática, interior/exterior, privado/público (sobretudo no nível da aprendizagem de línguas novas) e linguagens especializadas/linguagens públicas, pela promoção de uma reflexão que contribua para multiplicar as imagens de si. Estas dinâmicas novas demandam o desenvolvimento da consciência da influência de estereótipos como a crença que a vida é um jogo de soma-nula ou de soma-não nula, de estratégias de difusão do saber diferentes daquelas privilegiadas na modernidade, sobretudo pela mudança das pedagogias universitárias nos campos ligados à cultura. Elas necessitam do desenvolvimento de estratégias de inovação científicas agressivas permitindo competir nos mercados tecnológicos mundiais. O objetivo é favorecer a construção de uma sociedade que contribua à expansão das potencialidades individuais de todas e de todos.Résumé: Après avoir défini la société du savoir dans ses dimensions philosophiques, sociologiques, économiques et «prosélytes», sans oublier ce que le contexte technologique où elle se trouve fait oublier dans la définition contemporaine du savoir, on envisagera la société du savoir en relation avec la reconnaissance de l’autre et avec un multiculturalisme lié à la fois au libéralisme économique et aux protections sociales. Cette société du savoir transforme le Canada et les Amériques, car elle déplace les limites théorie/pratique, intérieur/extérieur, privé/public (notamment au niveau de l’apprentissage de langues nouvelles) et langage spécialisés/langages publics, par la promotion d’une réflexivité qui contribue à multiplier les images de soi. Ces dynamiques nouvelles demandent le développement de la conscience de l’influence de stéréotypes comme la croyance que la vie est un jeu à somme-nulle ou à somme non-nulle, de stratégies de diffusion du savoir différentes de celles privilégiées dans la modernité, notamment par le changement des pédagogies universitaires dans les domaines liés à la culture. Elles nécessitent le développement de stratégies d’innovation scientifiques agressives permettant de compétitionner sur les marchés technologiques mondiaux. Le but est alors de favoriser la construction d’une société qui donne son essor à l’expansion des potentialités individuelles de toutes et de tous.
