L'incidence de la mobilite interprovinciale sur les gains des particuliers : estimations de modeles par panel pour le Canada

Abstract
Le present document fait etat des resultats d'une recherche empirique sur l'incidence de la migration interprovinciale sur les gains des particuliers axee sur la Banque de donnees administratives longitudinales (BDAL), disponible depuis peu. Les principaux resultats sont fondes sur un modele des differences qui permet d'estimer l'incidence de la mobilite sur les gains (fonction logarithmique); ce modele neutralise implicitement les niveaux initiaux de gains et d'autres effets constants de meme que d'autres influences integrees aux variables explicatives des modeles. Les resultats revelent que la mobilite interprovinciale est associee a une modification statistiquement significative et, dans de nombreux cas, quantitativement importante des gains des particuliers, ces effets variant selon l'age, le sexe et la province d'origine. Les profils des gains anterieurs et posterieurs au demenagement sont egalement analyses et tendent a confirmer la validite du modele des differences dans la mesure ou les migrants integrent rapidement le marche local du travail apres un demenagement. Nous discutons les repercussions et proposons des orientations possibles pour des recherches ulterieures.
