Abstract

fetched live from OpenAlex

Using $586\text{ }\text{ }{\mathrm{pb}}^{\ensuremath{-}1}$ of ${e}^{+}{e}^{\ensuremath{-}}$ collision data at ${E}_{\mathrm{c}.\mathrm{m}.}=4170\text{ }\text{ }\mathrm{MeV}$, produced at the Cornell Electron Storage Ring collider and collected with the CLEO-c detector, we observe the process ${e}^{+}{e}^{\ensuremath{-}}\ensuremath{\rightarrow}{\ensuremath{\pi}}^{+}{\ensuremath{\pi}}^{\ensuremath{-}}{h}_{c}(1P)$. We measure its cross section to be $15.6\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}2.3\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}1.9\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}3.0\text{ }\text{ }\mathrm{pb}$, where the third error is due to the external uncertainty on the branching fraction of $\ensuremath{\psi}(2S)\ensuremath{\rightarrow}{\ensuremath{\pi}}^{0}{h}_{c}(1P)$, which we use for normalization. We also find evidence for ${e}^{+}{e}^{\ensuremath{-}}\ensuremath{\rightarrow}\ensuremath{\eta}{h}_{c}(1P)$ at 4170 MeV at the $3\ensuremath{\sigma}$ level and see hints of a rise in the ${e}^{+}{e}^{\ensuremath{-}}\ensuremath{\rightarrow}{\ensuremath{\pi}}^{+}{\ensuremath{\pi}}^{\ensuremath{-}}{h}_{c}(1P)$ cross section at 4260 MeV.

Not calibrated prevalence, not ground truth. Human validation pending. The Gemma side is a direct model label for every work in the frame, read from the title-only record. The Codex side is a classifier learned from the 10,348 direct Codex labels and calibrated to design-weighted sample rates; fields without enough sample support carry no Codex call. Candidate is the union of the two sides; consensus is their intersection. These outputs are machine_predicted_unvalidated and are not human labels.

Machine scores (provisional)

The two teacher heads of the student model, read on this work. A score orders the frame for review; it never asserts a category, and the validation status ships verbatim with every row.

Baseline scores from an immature model (maturity gate not passed, 7 training rounds). Scores rank; they never assert a category.
