Abstract
"Neste estudo, determinou-se a distribuição espacial de Sulfetos Voláteis em Ácido (SVA) e Metais (Cd,Cu, Pb, Ni e Zn) Extraídos Simultaneamente (MES) no substrato lamoso do sedimento de manguezalda região de São Francisco de Conde (SFC) e Madre de Deus (MD), situados na porção norte da BTS.Foram escolhidas quatro estações, em um total de 25 pontos de coleta, em zona urbana, industrial eportuária. Os testes estatísticos aplicados mostraram não haver diferença estatística entre as estações. OSVA foi extraído do sedimento anaeróbio com ácido clorídrico 1 mol L-1, a frio, e os metais bivalentesliberados durante este tratamento são referidos como metais extraídos simultaneamente (MES). Comobjetivo de entender os processos referentes a biodisponibilidade dos metais em associação com ossulfetos, foram determinados: os parâmetros físicoquímicos da água superficial, assim como, fraçõesgranulométricas, matéria orgânica (1,13% 18,13%), carbono orgânico total (0,65% 10,52%),nitrogênio total (0,01% 0,32%), metais [Cd (< 0,10 mg Kg-1), Cu (0,45 mg Kg-1 10,27 mg Kg-1), Pb(1,36 mg Kg-1 21,14 mg Kg-1), Ni (0,66 mg Kg-128,62 mg Kg-1), Zn (4,68 mg Kg-137,12 mg Kg-1)].Comparando-se esses resultados com valores de referência internacionais (National Oceanic andAtmosferic Administration NOAA e Summary of Existing Canadian Environmental QualityGuidelines) verificou-se estarem abaixo dos valores estabelecidos, assim mesmo quando os resultadosforam comparados com àqueles encontrados em outras regiões (do Brasil e do mundo). Encontrou-seainda, valores <1 para a relação ?[MES]/[SVA], sugerindo a não biodisponibilidade desses metais.Estes resultados indicam que os teores dos metais estão em níveis referenciados como aqueles que nãodevem apresentar efeitos adversos à biota, exceto aos organismos bentônicos que ingerem partículas."
