Abstract
La formación de lectores en secundaria es un problema que demanda alternativas eficaces. En este trabajo se presentan aspectos teóricos que sustentan el diseño de un software educativo llamado Lectura inteligente así como sus actividades y contenidos. El programa se orienta al desarrollo de la fluidez y comprensión, está constituido por un módulo del instructor y otro del lector. Para valorar la eficiencia del programa e identificar formas de perfeccionarlo se ha analizado el desempeño de los alumnos en el mismo. En este estudio se describen los resultados de la aplicación de la última versión del software en una escuela secundaria pública. Los resultados muestran que con esta versión la mayoría de los alumnos mejora pero que su desempeño no es homogéneo. En general la mayoría de los jóvenes se expresa positivamente del programa.
