Abstract
L'incidence a long terme sur le revenu de la frequentation d'un etablissement d'enseignement postsecondaire apres la perte d'un emploi est estimee a partir d'une importante base de donnees administratives longitudinales sur les travailleurs canadiens et a l'aide d'un modele de la difference des differences. Il semble ressortir des resultats obtenus que, au cours de la periode allant de cinq ans avant la perte de l'emploi a neuf ans apres celle-ci, les travailleurs ayant fait des etudes postsecondaires peu apres leur deplacement ont vu leur revenu augmenter de pres de 7 000 $ de plus que les autres travailleurs deplaces. On observe des gains significatifs, selon le sexe, l'age, l'etat matrimonial et le fait d'etre syndique ou non, les hommes ages de 35 a 44 ans constituant l'exception. Mais malgre les avantages lies a la scolarite, on constate que le deplacement n'est associe qu'a une hausse modeste de la frequentation d'etablissements d'enseignement postsecondaire, et ce, pour tous les groupes examines.
