A disputa histórica pela posse da terra no Pontal do Paranapanema e dos conflitos daí desdobrantes que faz vir à tona as cifras marcantes das terras improdutivas e devolutas e, mais ainda descrédito em relação à Reforma Agrária e a negativa a qualquer possibilidade de acesso a terra, tal como a política de assentamento de vigência totalmente enfraquecida e desprestigiada. É neste cenário que a apropriação da água ou sua privatização comparece como preocupação. A face que estamos nos propondo refletir por meio do presente artigo, tem a ver com o caso particular dos reservatórios das usinas hidrelétricas ao longo do Rio Paranapanema, controladas pela transnacional Duke Energy, que nega o acesso aos reservatórios aos trabalhadores e movimentos sociais, que reivindicam o seu uso para a criação de peixe via o sistema tanques-rede para a subsistência e também como fonte de renda, além de despertar para a importância de discutir o conceito de Agrohidroterritório.
