Le present document vise a analyser le lien qui existe entre les reseaux d'innovation clients/fournisseurs et l'ampleur et le modele de flux de marchandises entre les industries. Cette analyse repose sur la conception d'un indice de la diversification servant a mesurer la nature des liens inter-industriels qui decoulent de la circulation de biens et de services entre fournisseurs et clients. Elle etablit ensuite un lien entre ces schemas de diversification et l'importance des reseaux d'innovation clients/fournisseurs. Des matrices d'entrees-sorties sont utilisees pour mesurer la portee des liens inter-industriels de meme que le type de flux de marchandises entre les industries. L'importance des reseaux clients/fournisseurs est derivee de donnees tirees de l'Enquete sur les innovations et les technologies de pointe 1993. Dans la presente etude, nous avons constate que l'importance des reseaux d'innovation etablis avec des fournisseurs ou des clients est liee a la structure des flux de marchandises qui s'effectuent entre les secteurs d'activite. Lorsque le nombre de liens interindustriels en amont est faible, les entreprises sont plus susceptibles d'etablir des partenariats avec des fournisseurs. En revanche, le nombre de reseaux etablis avec des clients augmente lorsque le nombre de liens interindustriels en aval est important.
