O presente artigo justifica-se pela importância de refletir quanto às práticas que, gestadas em meios acadêmicos, colaboram com um segmento da sociedade québécoise. O artigo objetiva discutir se as práticas do Centro de Estudo e Pesquisa de Intervenção Familiar (CERIF/UQO/Canadá), relativas ao modelo de acompanhamento familiar do luto perinatal, quando associadas à rede, têm potencial para ascender à institucionalização de uma política pública. Através de método qualitativo, de observação discutida à luz das teorias das políticas públicas e de aplicação de conceitos clássicos – bem como o de capital social – o estudo permitirá discutir as articulações internas do CERIF, associadas à formação de rede em torno de práticas de saúde, junto ao fenômeno do luto perinatal. Desse modo, será possível responder se tais articulações agregam condições para fazer das referidas práticas uma política pública de fato. Em Guerra (2006, p. 10), as vantagens das metodologias compreensivas são de várias ordens: de ordem epistemológica, na medida em que os atores são considerados indispensáveis para entender comportamentos sociais; de ordem ética e política, pois permitem aprofundar as contradições e os dilemas que atravessam a sociedade concreta; de ordem metodológica, por fim, como instrumento privilegiado de análise das experiências e do sentido da ação.
