Abstract
Une recherche action collaborative a ete menee avec 26 adolescents neo-brunswickois dans le but d'identifier leurs choix en matiere d'alimentation et d’activite physique ainsi que les facteurs qui les influencent. L’analyse des entrevues individuelles et de groupe ainsi que du journal reflexif des eleves montrent que la sante, pour ceux-ci, se definit comme le resultat d’un ensemble de choix. Pour eux, il est donc possible d’exercer un certain controle sur sa sante, en choisissant de mieux manger, de mieux dormir et de pratiquer plus d’activite physique. Les principaux facteurs qui influencent leurs choix en matiere d’alimentation et d’activite physique sont les amis, les objectifs fixes par leur entraineur sportif, la capacite a faire des choix conscients par rapport a leur sante, la frequence des fetes et des activites speciales et les emissions de television. Au quotidien, les adolescents utilisent aussi diverses strategies (par exemple planifier a l’avance les repas et les activites physiques) pour essayer de mieux manger et de pratiquer davantage d’activites physiques mais ils perseverent rarement, faute de support et de latitude dans leurs choix.
