Au congrès de 1990 de la Canadian History of Education Association / Association canadienne d'histoire de l'éducation, à Ottawa, en compagnie de ma collègue Nadia Fahmy-Eid, nous avions intitulé un bilan des recherches en histoire de l'éducation au Québec : « La pointe de l'iceberg », laissant entendre que les recherches étaient encore trop peu nombreuses.Depuis cette date, les publications se sont multipliées et ma foi, l'iceberg est devenu une large banquise.L'ouvrage que vient de publier Jocelyne Murray s'ajoute donc à une longue litanie d'ouvrages dont plusieurs concernent le développement de l'éducation au XIX e siècle, ouvrages signés par
