Abstract
Introdução: A dor é uma experiência desagradável, que dita limites ao estilo de vida, podendo indicar a progressão de alguma patologia, sendo responsável por uma grande quantidade de demanda de serviços da saúde. Objetivo da pesquisa: identificar a prevalência de dor em adultos participantes do programa HidroMafra, de Mafra, Santa Catarina. Materiais e métodos: A pesquisa foi realizada com 93 indivíduos que participam do Programa Hiperdia da secretaria municipal de saúde de Mafra. A coleta de dados foi realizada com o Mini Exame do Estado Mental (MEEM), com um questionário contendo questões socioeconômicas e demográficas, uma adaptação do questionário de dor de McGill, e com a Escala Visual Analógica da Dor. Resultados: Os resultados apontaram prevalência de dor crônica, sendo observada igualdade de frequência entre joelho direito e coluna lombar (17%). Não houve associação entre a dor e as variáveis analisadas na pesquisa. Conclusão: No presente estudo encontrou-se alta prevalência de dor, principalmente de aspecto crônico, sugerindo que a dor pode ser considerada um problema de saúde pública, pois está implicando no bem estar da população.
