Etant donne que de nombreux enfants passent un temps considerable en creche et en garderie, et qu'on en connait les effets defavorables lorsque les soins sont de mauvaise qualite, il est primordial qu'une attention de qualite soit assuree par une formation interne. Apprendre le langage en ayant du plaisir - le programme de Hanen pour educateurs de jeunes enfants donne aux educateurs (puericultrices, auxiliaires puericultrices, enseignants) de ces structures une formation interne intensive visant a favoriser le developpement des competences sociales et du langage oral et ecrit chez l'enfant. Ce programme a ete developpe au Centre de Hanen a Toronto, au Canada ; il est dirige par un(e) orthophoniste du centre et comprend sept seances de formation en groupe et six seances individuelles avec l'educateur, avec feed-back par video. Ce programme de developpement du langage enseigne de maniere intensive et par l'experience des strategies et pratiques favorisant les interactions sociales et l'apprentissage du langage oral et ecrit dans le contexte des activites quotidiennes de l'enfant. Cet article decrit le contenu et la structure de ce Programme de Hanen. il retrace egalement l'evolution d'un petit enfant avec un retard de developpement et de son educatrice, qui grâce au Programme de'Hanen a appris a promouvoir les interactions et l'apprentissage du langage, en ameliorant la qualite de ses reponses et l'adequation developpementale des activites proposees, et en apportant des modeles de langage calibres.
