Cet article traite de la formation à la délibération chez de futurs enseignants du préscolaire et du primaire à partir d’une approche d’analyse de récits de pratique en groupe. Y a-t-il une pertinence à faire de la délibération un objet spécifique de formation ? Peut-on contribuer à établir cette pertinence, d’un point de vue de la recherche, en tentant d’éclairer le savoir que cette démarche délibérative permet de construire à propos de la pratique ? En réponse à ce questionnement de recherche, nous présentons les résultats d’une analyse de séquences délibératives autour de récits de pratique utilisés comme des « cas », une analyse d’inspiration interactionniste, qui a conduit à dégager trois modes d’appropriation d’un savoir délibératif chez les futurs enseignants. L’appropriation y est ainsi présentée sous l’angle d’une coordination de sens du groupe autour d’une zone de « responsabilité » dans l’agir, d’une zone de « contrôle » dans l’agir et d’une zone de « vertu » dans l’agir. Cet éclairage porté sur la délibération des futurs enseignants s’inscrit dans la continuité du modèle du praticien réflexif dont Schön (1983) a établi les fondements et sur lesquels le présent projet prend appui, en contexte de formation à l’enseignement.
