Abstract
En los ultimos anos estan teniendo un desarrollo enorme los sistemas de transporte publico basados en corredores troncales de autobuses. Desde el ejemplo de Curitiba, seguido en varias ciudades de Latino America, y especialmente despues de TransMilenio en Bogota, las ciudades del mundo en vias de desarrollo han redescubierto al autobus. Pero tambien paises desarrollados llevan anos trabajando en la misma direccion, son los casos de Estados Unidos de America, Canada, Australia y Francia. En Madrid, la propuesta presentada por el Ministerio de Fomento en el mes de abril de 2005, unido a la politica que esta llevando el Consorcio Regional de Transportes de Madrid con la construccion de nuevos intercambiadores, va a permitir definir un nuevo sistema de transporte para la movilidad radial metropolitana. Sistema que debe ir acompanado de un paquete integrado de medidas que complementen las actuaciones de infraestructura. El articulo recoge una aproximacion a la evolucion que han tenido estos sistemas, resaltando la propuesta a desarrollar en Madrid.
