Abstract
Skripsi ini berjudul Pengaruh realitas sosial terhadap kehidupan pasangancampuran dalam novel L’histoire de la femme cannibale, karya Maryse Conde yangbersumber dari novel yang ditulis oleh pengarang pada tahun 2003.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memperlihatkan pengaruh realitas sosialterhadap kehidupan pasangan campuran di dalam novel ini. Untuk mencapai tujuantersebut digunakan analisis alur, analisis tokoh, analisis latar dan analisis sudutpandang. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode analisis deskriptif.Dari seluruh rangkaian analisis ini, kita dapat melihat realitas sosial yangterjadi di Afrika Selatan, diantaranya pemisahan kaum kulit putih dengan kaum kulithitam, maraknya aksi kejahatan seperti pembunuhan, kekerasan dan penindasan,situasi kultural seperti masih adanya kepercayaan yang kuat terhadap dukun, sertapencarian identitas pada diri tokoh utama. Kata kunci: realitas sosial di Afrika Selatan, politik Apartheid, Perkawinancampuran, Metis (anak keturunan campuran), diskriminasi ras, sosial budaya AfrikaSelatan.
