La part importante des dépenses publiques attribuées à la santé justifie facilement l'intérêt porté aux analyses sur les déterminants de la santé et les ceux entourant l'adoption de certains comportements. L'inactivité physique ayant été identifiée comme un risque important à la santé, nous souhaitons nous attarder aux dynamiques entourant l'adoption d'activité physique. Dans le cadre de ce mémoire, nous étudierons le choix économique de consommer de l'activité physique et ses déterminants économiques et démographiques chez les Canadiens et Canadiennes en 2010. Le premier chapitre fait état de la littérature existante sur les déterminants de la pratique de l'activité physique. Le deuxième chapitre traite de la méthodologie utilisée, soit le modèle probit. Le troisième chapitre porte sur les données utilisées pour les fins d'analyse. Enfin, le quatrième chapitre traite des résultats obtenus, de leur interprétation et des limites de l'analyse. Dans nos analyses, nous trouvons que la pratique d'activité physique est en général liée positivement au revenu permanent. La probabilité de participer à une activité physique diminue avec le fait d'être une femme, de ne pas être Blanc, d'être immigrant, et avec l'âge, de façon non-linéaire. La probabilité de participer à certaines activités est plus fortement affectée par le revenu permanent; comme pour la course, le ski et le tennis, alors que d'autres activités le sont moins, tel que la marche, le baseball et le soccer. \n______________________________________________________________________________ \nMOTS-CLÉS DE L’AUTEUR : Activité physique, santé, revenu.
