Abstract
China’s western development experienced the period of brilliance in Han and Tang Dynasties, the period from prosperity to decline in Song and Yuan Dynasties, and the period into the abyss in Ming and Qing Dynasties. The history of China’s western development witnessed the process of change in politics, economy and culture. The contemporary Western Development of China should draw lessons from experience and take the road of sustainable development. Key words: China, western development, history Resume: Le developpement de l'ouest de la Chine a connu son apogee sous les Dynasties des Han et des Tang, son tournant sous les Dynasties des Song et des Yuan et un repli total sous les Dyansties des Ming et des Qing. L'histoire du developpement de l'Ouest est le temoin des evolutions politiques et economiques de la Chine. L'actuelle politique du developpement de l'Ouest doit en tirer une lecon et poursuivre le chemin de developpement durable.
