SYSTEMATIZATION OF AGROECOLOGICAL EXPERIENCES IN THE TERRITORY OF SEMIARIDO NORDESTE II, IN STATE OF BAHIA, BRAZIL ABSTRACT This article aims to describe and analyze the process of systematization of experiences of family farmers in the territory of Semiarido Nordeste II, located in state of Bahia, Brazil, as well as to provide clues about how they contribute to strengthen the agroecology in that region. The Brazilian semiarid region has many social and environmental problems, particularly affecting rural populations. However, there are examples of many experiences of interaction with the environment, using practices that embody knowledge that is historically grounded in agroecological principles. The systematization of these experiences is a process of analytical reconstruction of a particular practice, which is interpreted and analyzed, along with the subjects of the experiments, seeking to understand and disseminate it. The methodology used was based on reports of technical visitations and exchanges, workshops on systematization of experiences, and recordings and visual records of meetings, which brought together the reports of the farmers involved in the process. The results favored the strengthening of the dialogue between the institutions involved in technical assistance in the region, proving to be extremely important in the classification of exchanges, in interactions in local and regional networks aimed at mutual learning through knowledge drawn from the experiences of these social actors, as well as in the orientation of public policies related to agroecology in that territory. Index terms: agroecology, popular education, social participation.
