On le voit par ces quelques exemples, une réflexion générique sur la fable peut essaimer dans de multiples directions et engendrer une réelle dynamique de lecture dans la classe de français.Un tel exercice entraîne à situer l'œuvre lue dans une perspective plus large, à identifier les ressorts particuliers sur lesquels elle joue et à établir des liens avec d'autres œuvres du même genre ou d'un genre voisin.Cette activité permet d'éviter les écueils auxquels se heurte souvent le retour sur une lecture, à savoir la paraphrase et l'appréciation globale de type affectif (« j'ai aimé »).Enfin, en apprenant à l'élève à porter un jugement de type générique, on développe sa capacité d'abstraction et on l'aide à mieux appréhender les décisions impliquées dans le processus d'écriture.Professeur-chercheur à l'Université d'Ottawa Notes 1 Pour une démarche approfondie et de nombreuses pistes de travail en classe, on se reportera à l'ouvrage de K.
