Cet article présente les résultats de l'évaluation des effets d'un programme de sensibilisation visant è diminuer les préjugés envers les personnes ayant une maladie mentale et leurs proches chez les jeunes. L'étude a été réalisée selon un devis quasi-expérimental auprès de 16 classes d'élèves de secondaire V. Un groupe de 214 élèves participant au pro-gramme «Les préjugés . . . j'connais pas!» ont complété une mesure de connaissances, un questionnaire portant sur les attitudes face aux personnes éprouvant des désordres mentaux et un questionnaire visant è estimer la distance sociale. Ces élèves ont été comparés è un groupe témoin de 159 jeunes. Les résultats indiquent qu'au post-test, les élèves qui ont participé è l'atelier de sensibilisation obtiennent des scores plus élevés è la mesure de connaissances et rapportent entretenir des attitudes plus favorables è l'égard des personnes ayant des maladies mentales que les élèves du groupe témoin. Les données suggèrent de plus que les jeunes qui ont participé au programme démontrent mons de réticences è côtoyer les personnes éprouvant des problèmes de santé mentale majeurs que ceux et celles n'y ayant pas participé.
