Ausgangslage: Alexithymie wird als ein kognitiv-emotionales Muster beschrieben, welches durch ein nicht-emotionales, operationales Denken mit verarmtem Fantasieleben charakterisiert ist, das heißt der Unfähigkeit, eigene Gefühle adäquat wahrnehmen und in angemessenen Worten zum Ausdruck bringen zu können. Dieses Muster wird auch bei Alkoholkranken und bei Drogenabhängigen beschrieben. Methode: Wir verwendeten die »Toronto Alexithymie Skala« (TAS-20) zur Messung der Alexithymie. Untersucht wurden 55 stationäre Alkoholkranke nach dem körperlichen Entzug (m = 40, w = 15) und 18 Kontrollpersonen aus der Allgemeinbevölkerung (m = 10, w = 8). Ergebnisse: Die Alkoholkranken wiesen im Vergleich zu den Kontrollpersonen signifikant höhere Alexithymiewerte auf (50,1 gegenüber 42,4). Dies entspricht den bisherigen Untersuchungen, in denen Alkoholkranke im angloamerikanischen und französischen Raum kurz nach Entzug auf Alexithymie hin untersucht wurden. Schlussfolgerung: Alexithyme Merkmale bei Patienten sollten im Rahmen der Therapie Berücksichtigung finden. Besonders Gruppenpsychotherapie scheint Erfolg versprechend zu sein.
