Abstract

fetched live from OpenAlex

ABSTRACT. This paper presents the results of a research project, carried out by the interinstitutional research group on distance education (GIREFAD), examining the problem of learner's support in distance education. The results of interviews conducted with secondary and college level students show that their relation with this process is mainly functional. Students made use of the services offered to them only if needed. Thus, the support process cannot reach its full potential and cannot fulfill its purpose of eliciting student's engagement and perseverance. In conclusion, we outline ways to support more adequately the supervision and support process in distance education.

Not calibrated prevalence, not ground truth. Human validation pending. Learned from the 10,348 direct Codex labels and 10,348 direct Gemma labels. Candidate is the union of thresholded teacher heads; consensus is their intersection. These outputs are machine_predicted_unvalidated and are not human labels or direct frontier model labels.

Machine scores (provisional)

The two teacher heads of the student model, read on this work. A score orders the frame for review; it never asserts a category, and the validation status ships verbatim with every row.

Baseline scores from an immature model (maturity gate not passed, 7 training rounds). Scores rank; they never assert a category.
