Lorsque les élèves entrent au secon­daire, ils doivent assurer leur réussite sco­laire, mais aussi composer avec de nombreux changements biopsychosociaux (Mackenzie, E., Mc­Maugh, A. & O’Sullivan, K-A., 2012; Smith, 2006). Les adolescents raffinent leurs ha­biletés sociales, développent leur autonomie, forment leur identité et transforment leur vision de la famille, des amis et des amours ; ils deviennent aussi sexuellement matures (Cloutier & Drapeau, 2008). Les enseignants, dans leurs façons d’interagir et d’enseigner, influencent l’expérience scolaire et la vie de leurs élèves. Ainsi, les enseignants doivent enseigner la matière, gérer leur classe, atteindre les objectifs du MELS, tout en composant avec leurs élèves en pleine maturation. En tenant compte de l’importance de cette période vie et de l’importance des savoirs dans la pratique enseignante, nous nous demandons : que savent les enseignants de leur objet de travail : les adolescents?
